Excursions in the Isarco Valley

Sun-kissed high mountain pastures like Alpe di Villandro or Malga di Luson, adventure trails like the Chestnut Excursion Path of the Isarco Valley, also known as the “Keschtnweg”, the highest mountain hut in South Tyrol, the UNESCO World Heritage Site… there is no denying that the Isarco Valley deserves the title “valley of paths”.

Whether you are ambitious mountaineers who love barren rock walls or hikers who prefer panoramic pastures, at Chiusa and in the surrounding area all holiday-makers and hikers with the most varied tastes will always find something to suit them. Ever since antiquity there have been numerous hiking trails winding through the natural and cultural landscape of the region, from the valley bottom to high altitudes.

Escursions

The offer of excursions is equally varied, from visiting the medieval town of Chiusa to climbing Cima San Cassiano, pausing on the way to visit Monte Sabiona. Excursions to suit a family with a pushchair, exciting underground treasure hunts and mountain climbing in the Dolomites of the Isarco Valley make hiking in Chiusa and in the surrounding area a special adventure for young and old.
